Day 9 -- Bali, Indonesia & Singapore

 6/17/2023 Saturday

Itinerary:

  • DPS Airport
  • Singapore Jewel Changi Airport
  • Yotelair Singapore Changi Airport

Today is our last day at Bali, Indonesia as we leave for Singapore. We spent the morning taking pictures around the hotel.

After the pictures, we went to the lounge for the last time to have our breakfast and say goodbye to the manager who has been super nice to us.

Soon after breakfast, we checked out of our room and pay our bill before proceeding to the lobby to meet our pre-arranged driver to DPS airport. The driver was the one that took the boys to their ATV adventure and Anthony really likes him, so he hired him to take us to the airport today. The fees was more than half the price that the hotel charges us. He is not only the driver but also a tour guide, so he provided a lot of history on Bali and it was very interesting. So, for our next trip to Bali, we will defintely use him as our tour guide.

We went to the lounge after going through customs and getting our boarding passes. There was not a lot of food selection in the lounge, so we didn't stayed too long before we went to our gate.

It was a 2 hour and 30 minutes flight from Bali to Singapore, and we had already pre select our meal before our flight.

Soon after our meal, we rested a bit before we started descending to Singapore. It was such a short flight that went by so fast.

We had filled out the declaration form beforehand, so we were able to use the automated lane which scans our passport, eyes and finger to enter Singapore. Anthony had an issue with his fingerprint, so he had to go to the line with a custom officer and we had to wait for him.

Next, we went to get our luggages and proceed to check in to Yotelair Singapore Changi Airport hotel as we have to take an early flight to Cambodia tomorrow, so we were just going to stay overnight here in the transit hotel. Once we checked in and put our luggages to the room, we proceed to go have some dinner at the Terminal 1 Canteen in the airport.

Following the dinner, we went back to Jewel to shop and enjoy the waterfall view.

I don't recommend staying at the Yotelair hotel even though it's very convenient if you have an early flight because the restroom was full of molds. I couldn't wait to leave the room the next morning. The next time I need a hotel in the Changi Airport, I think I would try Crowne Plaza Changi Airpot hotel.

Day 13 -- Singapore

06/20/2018 Thursday

Itinerary:
  • Marina Bay Sands Infinity Pool
  • Bugis Junction
  • Chinatown
  • Sri Mariamman Hindu Temple
  • Maxwell Food Centre
  • Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice
  • Jewel Changi Airport
We had a light breakfast today as we were going to the pool afterwards.

We took some pictures at our balcony for memories.

Today, we wanted to spend some time at the infinity pool as we have been out the past few days, only spending nights at the pool.

First, we went to the Jacuzzi before heading to the main pool.

I also went to the gym on the 57 floor to check it out.

Next spending some time in the pool, we decided to go to Bugis Junction for lunch.

After lunch, we decided to check out Chinatown by taking MRT to Chinatown Station.

After Chinatown, we decided to go to Maxwell Food Centre to try their famous Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice. On the way there, we passed by Sri Mariamman Hindu Temple which is the oldest Hindu Temple in Singapore.

After walking about 5 minutes, we reached Maxwell Food Centre.

We looked for Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice which was recommended by Anthony Bourdain. Luckily there was not a long line, so we had our food very quickly.

It was not very delicious nor worth the hype and I was glad that I didn't had to wait for this.

Next, we had some time so we decided to check out the latest Jewel Changi Airport that was just opened in April 2019. The centrepiece is the world's tallest indoor waterfall, The Rain Vortex which is surrounded by a forest setting.

After checking out Jewel, we had dinner before heading back to our hotel and the kids played in the pool again.
