Day 3 -- California Adventure Park (Los Angeles, CA)

11/25/2016 Friday

Today, we are going to California Adventure Park. We arrived right after they opened and it wasn't as crowded as Disneyland.

The dads went to get the fast pass for Radiator Spring Racers while we went for the Toy Story Midway Mania in Paradise Pier. On the way there, we passed by the beautiful ferris wheel.

The line was long and we waited for a long time. By the time, it was almost our turn, we were turned away as someone had got off their ride before they are supposed to, so they had to shut the ride down for safety check. What a bummer! So, the kids went on the ride of the King Triton's Carousel before heading to Mater's Junkyard Jamboree in Cars Land.

Next, we went to Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters. This is a new ride as it was a different ride the last time we were here a few years ago.

After this, we went to have lunch before going on the Monster's Inc ride in Hollywood Land. We then took the Red Car Trolley to A Bug's Land.

We went on the Tuck and Roll's Drive 'Em Buggies, Francis' Ladybug Boogie and Flik’s Flyers.

Next, we went to see Moana which is a 4D show and used to be It's tough to be a bug. Moana is new Disney show that just went on theater.

After the show, we went to have some ice cream.

On the way, we saw Princess Sofia so we stopped to have a picture taken.

Afterwards, we went back to Hollywood Land to queue up for the Frozen's musical. Since it was the last show of the day, we had to go early so that they don't run out of space. The last time we were here, we watched the Aladdin show which was great as well.

We had a great time watching the musical and it was well worth the ticket we bought for the park. After the show, we decided to try our luck at Toy Story Midway Mania since we were turned away this morning. This time, we had better luck and were able to get on the ride. We went to check for the Radiator Spring Racers and were told that the ride was still down, so we weren't able to get on it. Mason really love this ride the last time we were here.

After the ride, we decided to head back to the hotel for dinner as it was Matthew's 14th birthday. On the way to the exit, we stopped by to have a picture with Mickey. We would have stayed longer to watch the World of Color but since we had a birthday celebration, we left early.

Day 2 -- Disneyland (Los Angeles, CA)

11/24/2016 Thursday

Today is Thanksgiving day, and we decided to go to Disneyland hoping that there won't be a lot of people as everyone will be home celebrating. This time, we stayed at Hilton Anaheim as our friends are staying there. We took the ART (Anaheim Resort Transit) bus to Disneyland so that we can avoid driving.

We arrived there shortly after they opened and there was already a small crowd. After passing the security check, we went to get our tickets.

We bought the 2 day, 1 park per day tickets as the park hopper tickets are more expensive and it's too tiring to change parks in a day. I rather we spend all our time in 1 park each day and get on most of the rides that we want.

Once we enter the park, we saw the beautiful Christmas tree. I love visiting the parks during this season as they are beautifully decorated with Christmas ornaments.

First we went to Tomorrow Land to get on the Star Wars Launch Bay as it is one of the popular rides. I have been to Disneyland multiple times but it's my first time going on this ride. The line was pretty short, so we got in line. It's a simulated ride so at times, I had to close my eyes since I don't have a very brave heart. All the kids were having fun and wanted to go again.

After the ride, we went to get fast pass for the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, another popular ride as well. We also got the fast pass for the Star Wars Launch Bay.

Since we still have time before the fast pass, we walked to Autopia to drive the cars. The cars looked much newer than our previous visit and is from Honda. Mason wanted to ride by himself while Maddie rode with me. She was the driver but since her legs are not long enough to step on the pedal, I ended up stepping on the pedal while she steered.

It was Maddie's favorite ride of the day. She really loved steering the car.

Next, we went to Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage. At this time, the line started getting long and we had to queue up for 30 minutes. It was one of the worst boring ride we had. We went on a submarine and saw fake corals and fish. I was hoping to get to see real fish and coral.

After the submarine ride, it was time to use our fast pass for Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters.

This is one of the fun rides for me. Then the kids were for another ride for Star Wars Launch Bay since we had the fast pass while my best friend, Maddie and I stayed behind since we didn't want to go another time. We went to Redd Rockett Pizza Port for lunch and waited for them.

Since it was Thanksgiving, my best friend went to bought turkey legs for us. The kids have pizza and spaghetti. I took a few bits of the turkey leg and it was delicious.

After lunch, we went to Adventureland to go on the Jungle Cruise and got our fast pass for Indiana Jones Adventure.

On the way, we passed by the castle, so I asked the kids to stop for a picture. The sun was bright, so all their eyes were squinting.

After the cruise, the kids went on the Tarzan's treehouse and later, we went to New Orleans Square for Pirates of the Caribbean. Again, this is the first time I am getting on this ride. My friend warned me that there will be a sharp drop at the beginning of the ride and after that, it's just cruising around.

Then they went to the Haunted Mansion while Helen and I waited.

After the Haunted Mansion, we were planning to take the Disneyland Railroad but unfortunately, it was under repair and won't be available till next year. The train operator was really nice and allow us to get on the train to take some pictures.

After taking many pictures, we walked back to main street to have some ice cream and drinks. While we were relaxing there, we heard that the parade was starting soon, so we went to grab some seats on the curb while my friend and her family stayed at the restaurant.

We had a good time watching the parade for 30 minutes. After the parade, we met up with Helen and her family. We then went to Fantasyland.

We went on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride and a few other kiddie rides. Next, we went to It's a Small World ride.

After the ride, the boys went for the Indiana Jones Adventure ride while the girls went shopping at the stores. Indiana Jones Adventure ride is Mason's favorite ride. We then meet up for dinner at Blue Bayou Restaurant. After dinner, Helen and I waited for the rest while they went for a second Pirates of the Caribbean ride. With this, it concluded our first day at Disneyland.
