Day 4 -- San Diego, California

12/29/2014 Monday

We decided to head back to the San Diego Zoo today since the other day, it was dark when we came. Most animals were not available during that time.

One thing that I want to say is that San Diego Zoo is one of the best zoos that I have been to in U.S. It has many different animals and is well maintained. Of course, the admission fee is also more expensive than most local zoos that we have. If you ever have a chance to go to Singapore or Taiwan, you should definitely visit their zoos.

We went to the zoo in Taipei in 2012, the kids had a great time there as well. Guess what was the admission price for the zoo? They have a pretty large zoo as well with many different animals. It was NT60 (US $2). I don't know how they could maintain the zoo with such a low admission price, most likely they are funded by the government I would guess.

Anyway, back to San Diego Zoo. The kids wanted to go to take the cable car again.

After the ride, we saw the polar bear which we didn't see that night.

And many more animals.

Playing peek a boo

Maddie was tired and fell asleep

Next we went to see the panda bears.

After that, we went to see more animals before stopping by the kids playground.

Next, we went to the petting area.

After that, it was time to move on to the next destination, Balboa Park which was close by.

There is a Japanese garden behind us, which we didn't visit.

We were walking towards the amphitheater.

Since it was getting dark, we decided to head back to our hotel. On the way there, we decided to stop by the mall for some shopping and dinner.

Day 3 -- San Diego, California

12/28/2014 Sunday

Today, we plan to go to San Diego Zoo Safari Park and also Coronado Island. First, we had breakfast at the hotel.

After breakfast, we went to the Safari Park. It's our first time to there. As usual, we got our map to see where we should go.

After looking at the map, we decided to go to the Africa Tram first.

We were able to see many different animals during our tour.

After the tram, we walked towards the Condor Ridge. On the way there, we passed by the lion, children's playground.

After seeing the condors, we walked to the Nairobi Village and have lunch nearby.

For kids' lunch, they put the food in small reusable bags, which I thought was a good idea. The park trys to reduce waste by using reusable bags.

The kids trying out the massage chair.

After the park, we drove to Coronado Island.  We had to drive past the bridge to get to the island.

Once we crossed the bridge, we had to drive for another 10 minutes or so before reaching the Coronado Hotel. We parked at the residential area nearby and had to walk to the hotel.

On the way to the hotel, we passed by the beach, so the kids stopped to play with the sand since the water was too cold to get in.

At this time, the sun was setting, so I asked my dear husband to help us take a picture with the sun setting in the background. Look what picture he took!! I can barely see Mason's face. I guess I should be happy that at least he kept my face visible.

After the beach, we walked to the hotel and it was a very beautiful hotel.

We also watched people ice skating while having some ice cream.

After that, we decided to head for dinner and that ended our day.
