Yesterday, we spent a day catching up with friends and family that reside in LA. They took us out for
lunch/dinner.
Today is Christmas and we decided to go to Universal Studios. When I was planning this trip, I was thinking if we should also visit Disneyland as it's been a while since we went there. We have been to Disneyland during Christmas time and it was so packed. I remember the day we went; the park was closed to new visitors at 10am as they have already reached their full capacity. No one was allowed to enter Disneyland and we were lucky that we went around 9am. The lines for each ride was extremely long and we ended up only being able to ride a few rides.
So this time, I decided to check out the crowd at Disneyland. It showed "Forget about it" during the days that we were in LA while for Universal Studios, it showed "Yup, it's packed". So, we decided to pick Universal Studios, plus, it was the kids first time to Universal Studios.
We started the day with the Studio tram ride as I heard that it was the longest line. It was a fun and exciting 45 minute tram ride.
Since it was around Christmas time, they also added a musical show with Grinch.
After the tram tour, we went to different rides. Anthony and Mason went on all the rides while Maddie and I didn't as we both are afraid of heights and too exciting rides. Maddie's favorite area of the park is the Minion's area where she gets to meet with some of the Minion's characters and take pictures with them. She even got a Minion container with popcorn.
The boys favorite ride is "Transformer The Ride - 3D" one and they went 3 times.
We also watched the "WaterWorld" show which I think is a little old now. It's the same show since the first time I went to Universal Studio more than 10 years ago. I think they should start thinking about changing the show.
When we were there, we saw the "Wizarding World of Harry Porter" but it was not opened yet. It was scheduled to be open in April 2016.
As usual, we tried to take pictures with the characters at the park.
