Day 7 -- Cijin, Takoro Mall (Kaohsiung)

12/24/2016 (Saturday)

My mom and dad comes from a family of five each, so I have a lot of cousins. My other cousin came by this morning to visit us and invited us to her house.

Maddie played with her older girl while Mason played with the younger girl as her younger daughter loves playing with fighting video games like Mason while the other 2 girls love girlie stuff like painting their nails and doing their hair.

We stayed for a little while before going home for lunch. On the way home, I bought some food as I love this place which I had been eating since I was little. They used to sell on a motorcycle but after many years, they were finally able to get a place to sell their food.

Sausage and fish sticks (some were grilled and some were boiled in broth)

After lunch, my other cousins came to pick us to go to Cijin in Kaohsiung. Cijin is an island right by Kaohsiung and can be accessed either by ferry or by car through the tunnel that connects to the island.

Some pictures with the kids while waiting for them to get their cars.

After a little over an hour, we finally reached Cijin which is in Kaohsiung by the beach. We stopped by to have some fresh coconut juice.

After we bought the coconut juice, we proceed to walk around their indoor market which sells mainly seafood products.

There is also free tasting for the products so that you can try it before buying them. After walking through the market, we came to the numerous stalls outside.

The kids played a few games as usual before stopping to buy some cotton candy.

We saw a temple while walking along the streets. This temple is several hundred years ago.

Then we went to the beach and walked around. The breeze was relaxing and not cold at all. Anthony said that it reminds him of Hawaii. I personally think that it's prettier in Hawaii with the blue sky and white sand.

Pretty soon, it was time for dinner and we picked a restaurant that seemed to have good business. Most of the restaurants here sell seafood since they are right by the ocean.

A few more games after dinner before we left to go to Taroko Mall which is nearby and is built recently. It is a really big mall which has both indoor and outdoor space. There is also a go cart race track at the mall.

My cousin with  his family. Baby number 4 is coming soon. I really admire his courage to have 4 kids.

After the water show and carousel ride, we shopped around the stores before heading home.
