I have a full day of activities planned. I had booked a private tour of the island where we will be taken to several of the famous tourist spots in the island and end the day with a nice dinner at The Tent.

First, we started our daily breakfast at the Zest in the hotel.

After breakfast, we went back to our room to get ready for the tour. Soon, the driver came to pick us up and took us to a nearby beach. Next we went to one of the most popular restaurant nearby to have lunch. The restaurant is called Hemingway's on the Beach. The food was pretty good but it's an outdoor seating, so there was no air conditioning and the kids weren't too happy as it was a hot day. Since we had breakfast just a while ago, so the kids didn't want to eat anything. The price wasn't cheap for locals, so we only saw tourists eating there.

We quickly ate as our driver was waiting for us inside the van. We offered to buy him lunch but he politely refused. After lunch, he drove us to our next destination which is the Namuang Waterfall. The reason that I picked this waterfall over other waterfalls in the island is because this requires the least walking to see the waterfall.

On the way to the waterfall, we passed by stalls selling local crafts and also elephant feeding and riding.

After taking some pictures, we went to our next stop which is the mummified monk. Thailand is still a very conservative country, so we had to cover our shoulders.

We just stay briefly before we went to our next stop which is the Hin Ta and Hin Yai Rocks aka Grandpa and Grandma's rock in Lamai's beach. On the way to the rocks, we passed by a small town where they were selling local crafts and food.

It was a really hot day, so we didn't stayed too long before going to one of the most beautiful beach in Koh Samui, Silver Beach.

On the way to the Big Buddha Temple, the driver stopped by a view point where we can see a very nice view of the town.

Finally saw the Big Buddha Temple.

After touring the temple, we went to Wat Plai Laem which is nearby.

Since we were still early for our dinner, the driver took us to the most famous mall at Koh Samui, Central Festival Samui. It's a open air mall and it's pretty nice.

After checking out the mall, our driver took us to The Tent Beachfront Restaurant and Bar for my dinner.

The restaurant is on the beautiful Chaweng beach and was pretty empty when we arrived. After looking at the menu, we decided to order Irisa which is the Thai set menu for my husband and I and ordered other dishes for the kids. The Thai set menu is similar to the Prix Fixe menu that we have in U.S. where they bring out a dish one at a time. The entire dinner took about 2 hours to finish and we had to call our driver to pick us up later as we didn't expect it to take so long. Overall, the ambiance of the restaurant is very nice with views of the ocean and beach. Service was slow and there were times where we couldn't find our server even though there was only another table of guests. The food wasn't as tasty and price was expensive for local standard.

After dinner, the driver took us back to our hotel which is about 1 hour away as Chaweng beach is near the airport. It was a tiring day as we toured the island and had a long ride. When we reached our hotel room, we were ready to call it a day but there was a surprise. Our hostess, Fay had decorated our room and left a cake for us.

After eating the cake, we heard some fireworks and looked out our window. It looks like there was a wedding celebration today, thus they were having fireworks. It seem to be a perfect day for fireworks and I felt blessed to be here with my family.
