Conrad Koh Samui

Celebrating my Birthday at Conrad Koh Samui, Thailand

Itinerary:
  • One Bedroom Villa at Conrad Koh Samui
For my birthday, I wanted to do something special. So, after reviewing many different hotels, I decided to pick Conrad Koh Samui as the private infinity pool outside the room looks amazing and since the hotel is located at the east of the island, it advertises as having one of the best sunset views at Koh Samui. We had selected the one bedroom villa and asked to have an extra rollover bed.

I had arranged beforehand a private shuttle to pick us up from the airport to the hotel as it is on the other side of the island and took us almost 1 hour to reach as the roads in Koh Samui is pretty uneven and bumpy, so the car can't drive too fast.

The hotel is on a pretty steep slope, so the driver had to first wait at the gate on the bottom of the hill, before the hotel allows him to drive up a steep hill to reach the lobby. Once we get off the car, we were welcomed by a beautiful view of the Gulf of Thailand and the Five Islands. Once seated, we were served a delicious cold lemongrass drink. It's a very unique taste as we are not used to drinking lemongrass and the kids did not like it at all.

Here's a video of the beautiful view from the lobby.

They took our passports to check us in. Once all the paperwork is done, a buggy cart was called for us and took us to our room. Another buggy cart took all our luggage. We stayed at Room 120.

Here's a video of us taking the buggy to our room. Another video that shows our room.

Here's a video from the infinity pool.

There was a fresh plate of fruit and macarons waiting for us. Unfortunately, they do not replenish fresh fruits every day. But they do have nightly turn down service and a bag of cookies are given.

After staying here, I can say that it's the best hotel that I have ever stayed in my life so far. It's the first hotel that I have stayed where it has its own private infinity pool. We used the pool every day and the kids love it. The service at the hotel is almost perfect and we have our own personal hostess, Fay who took care of us very well. She checks in on us every morning at breakfast and also help us book our tours and also shuttle rides to the town. The only drawback of the hotel is that it is pretty secluded and far away from the busy part of the island, so either you will have to arrange a ride or pay for a taxi.

For guest staying more than 4 nights, you can get complimentary shuttle bus ride from the hotel to either Chaweng or Lami Beach. They offer 3 different time slots and will need to book in advance as some time slots and/or days are fully booked since the shuttle can only fit about 10 people or so.

There was also free kayaking at the hotel and also a day trip to a nearby island.
