Itinerary:
- Breakfast at hotel
- Grand Kuranda Experience
- Dinner at Mai Sai Pak Chee Thai Restaurant
- Grocery shopping at Woolworths
On the way, we stopped by Barron Falls to check out the waterfalls before continuing on the journey to Kuranda Village.
We reached the village and went straight to the butterfly sanctuary as our tour is waiting for us.
After spending about 45 minutes there, we took the bus to the restaurant for lunch. It was an all you can eat buffet. We tried kangaroo meat for our first time and it tasted very tough, similar to beef.
After lunch, we were told that we can go and take pictures with the koala if we like for a surcharge of AUD$24. It's my first time holding a koala and the fur felt pretty rough, not smooth as I imagined.
After the picture, we went to our next tour which is the Army ducks.
Then we stopped by to see the performance of the natives.
Next we went to feed the kangaroos. We bought some kangaroos food for AUD $2 and it was plenty of food.
After that, we went for the skyrail cable to head back to our bus.
After the bus ride to our hotel, we went for dinner at a Thai Restaurant. It's one of the best Thai food that I have tasted.
After a fulfilling dinner, we went to the nearby grocery place (Woolworths) to buy some fruits before calling it a day as we have another full day tomorrow. If you look at the prices, you can tell that it's quite expensive in Australia. Exchange rate during this time is US $1 = AUD $1.25. Also, some places charge a 2% fee for using credit card.
