Day 11 -- Tokyo, Japan and Singapore

06/18/2018 Tuesday

Itinerary:
  • Breakfast at Hilton Tokyo Hotel
  • Airport Limousine to Haneda Airport
  • Singapore
  • Marina Bay Sands Hotel
After breakfast, we went to get our luggage and check out of the hotel as we will be flying to Singapore today. We had booked the Airport Limousine to Haneda Airport from the concierge a few days ago. My recommendation for visitors is to come to Haneda Airport instead of Narita Airport if possible as Haneda airport is much closer to Tokyo city than Narita Airport.

Even though Airport Limousine is a little more expensive than taking the metro to the airport, I highly recommend it as they pick us up at the hotel and take care of our luggage for us. Also, they have service every hour, so it's pretty convenient. Just thinking about how we had to pull our luggage at the metro on our way here makes me tired.

After taking several airlines over the years, I can say that Japan Airlines has one of the tastiest airplane food for economy class.

After flying for about 7 hours and 40 minutes, we finally reached Singapore. It was the kids's first time in Singapore while Singapore is like my home that I left 22 years ago.

After getting our luggage, we took the taxi to our hotel, Marina Bay Sands. It's the first time we are staying at this hotel. It's almost an icon for Singapore and made famous by the movie Crazy Rich Asians movie. My daughter wanted to stay here after watching the movie, so I decided to splurge and book this hotel for her and my parents.

After checking in at the hotel, we decided to go out for dinner as it's a long flight. Within the hotel, there is a big shopping mall with lots of restaurant and food court.

I order all my favorite food which is Hainanese chicken, fishball noodles, Rojak and Boba tea.

After dinner, it was late, so we just walked around the outside of the hotel to enjoy the nice nightlights and scenery.

While we were walking around, there was a water show, so we stopped and watch it.

It's a long day, so we decided to head back to our room and it was so convenient as it was only 5 minutes walk. The kids wanted to check out the infinity swimming pool and we decided to go as it's one of the reasons that we wanted to stay at this hotel.
