Day 8 -- Tokyo, Japan

06/15/2018 Saturday

Itinerary:
  • Breakfast at Hilton Tokyo Hotel
  • Meiji Jingu Shrine
  • Omotesando
  • Shibuya Crossing
  • Shibuya 109
Today's plan is to visit a few of the famous tourists spots in Tokyo that are nearby. After having breakfast at the hotel lobby, the kids went for a swim at the hotel as it was a rainy day, so we decided to just visit a few places nearby. The variety of breakfast selection at the lobby is much more than the one at the lounge, so for the next few days we ate breakfast at the lobby.

We left to take the Metro to Harajuku Station as we were planning to go to Meiji Jingu Shrine. It was a rainy day and in hindsight, I probably shouldn't take my parents out today as they both got sick afterwards.

Since it was rainy, we just walked around quickly before heading to the restaurant for lunch.

After lunch, we decided to check out Omotesando shopping area nearby.

Most of the stores here are high end luxury brands, so we didn't buy anything except for a pair of earrings before taking the metro to Shibuya Station to check out Shibuya Crossing which is a world famous iconic landmark in Tokyo.

In order to better see the crossing, we went upstairs to the Starbucks.

After taking a few pictures, we proceed to the nearby Shibuya 109 shopping mall before heading back to our hotel. There was not much to do as it's been rainy most of the day.

We had some afternoon tea at the hotel lounge.

After resting a while, we decided to venture out to Shinjuku Station for dinner and also to buy some snacks to bring home.
